It’s easy to assume that a certain Swiss jeweler has the market cornered on all things Cannes Film Festival, but the annual event’s red carpets also serve as a backdrop for an arc-en-ciel of emeralds, rubies, and diamonds from plenty of other big-name luxury jewelry companies. Including another Geneva-based watch and jewelry maison, one that’s well-known to jewelry professionals: de Grisogono. (Read JCK’s report on the company’s recent leadership changes here.)
When it comes to Cannes, de Grisogono has lots of skin in the game. Make that exquisite skin, à la the world’s most beautiful models and actresses, from Alessandra Ambrosio and Naomi Campbell to Praya Lundberg.
Cannes 2019, which begins May 14, marks de Grisogono’s 17th year participating in the glamorous festivities in the south of France. The jeweler will be unveiling a special Haute Joaillerie collection in tribute to the tradition of Technicolor films and the legends of Old Hollywood.
Inspired by Technicolor, with an emphasis on the primary hues reflected in the finest rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, the collection also incorporates the maison’s affinity for volume, impactful color combinations, and chiaroscuro effects.
Five rings have been released ahead of the festival to allow fans, followers, and the jewelry trade a sneak peek of the grandeur to come.
All prices on request.
