Camille Zarsky to Close The Seven as Part of New Trove Partnership

Camille Zarsky’s celebrated New York City jewelry and accessories store The Seven will close later this year as she transitions into a new role with Trove that may lead to future retail opportunities.

In a statement provided to JCK, Trove described its purchase of The Seven as an acquisition and part of the New York City’s company’s “strategic expansion plans.” The statement also confirmed Trove will close The Seven’s well-known Bleecker Street store in July.

Trove majority investor Jen Rubio said she is leading Trove’s strategic vision now as its founder, Hannah Ward, “stepped away” from Trove’s day-to-day operations in January.

“We’re excited to be merging The Seven and Trove into a single, unified experience for our clients,” Rubio tells JCK. “With the two locations only a few blocks apart, it makes sense to focus our energy and resources on one flagship destination—especially as we begin to blend our teams and our vision for fine jewelry.

“This is about two creative forces coming together to do something bigger and more future-facing, with plans in place that align with our shared vision of immersive, elevated experiences that go beyond traditional retail,” she adds.

Rubio’s goal is to evolve Trove into a “broader platform that blends thoughtful retail, creative programming and curation, and designer-centric growth.”

As part of the acquisition, Zarsky will receive backing from Rubio for what has been described as a forthcoming design venture. (Stay tuned for more details about that venture later in 2025.) Zarsky also will curate several Seven-related pop-up experiences throughout the fall, the statement said.

Trove, which offers fine jewelry and jewelry boxes, is going to work with Camille Zarsky on a new project this year.

“I’m excited to join Trove as an advisor, bringing my curatorial eye and creative sensibility to this next chapter,” Zarsky tells JCK. “I’ll be collaborating closely with Jen across storytelling, partnerships, and overall brand vision, helping shape how Trove evolves as it expands into new formats, digital experiences, and potential new locations.”

In the Trove statement, Zarsky said she was “excited to collaborate with and learn from Jen [Rubio], whose vision and experience as a builder are incredibly inspiring.”

“There’s so much more we can do together,” Zarsky said. “Joining forces with Trove allows me to scale the spirit of The Seven while being part of something bigger.”

A boutique-style store decorated with antiques, hand-painted floral and dog wallpaper, and hand-painted floors, The Seven opened in the West Village in December 2022. Zarsky received numerous accolades for her emphasis on independent jewelry designers and storytelling, and for working with clients who wanted a special connection with the jewelry they wore.

Trove opened its flagship retail store offering jewelry boxes, jewelry, and curated designer-in-residence programs in the West Village in 2024 with Rubio’s support. Rubio is best known as the cofounder and former CEO of Away, a direct-to-consumer luggage and travel accessories brand.

On an Instagram post, Zarsky said she first heard Rubio speak at an event highlighting female business founders and admired her work building Away.

“Life has a way of coming full circle. I never imagined I’d one day be partnering with her,” Zarsky said in her post, which received more than three dozen comments. “The Seven will remain open a little longer, but follow along over at Trove.… More to come as we begin this exciting new adventure.”

Rubio replied in those comments, “We’re going to do great things together.”
