Chicago-based jeweler C.D. Peacock has enlisted industry veteran Olivier Stip (pictured) as chief development officer, a newly created role within the company.

Stip will lead both the remodeling and expansion of the company’s stores in Chicago.

Prior to coming to C.D. Peacock, Stip worked at Chanel as general manager of watches and fine jewelry for the United States. Before that, he served as senior vice president of marketing and communications for Cartier North America, where he helped spearhead the expansion of its iconic Love and bridal jewelry lines. He also worked as vice president of marketing for Piaget.

Stip “fully understands the significance and relevance of enhancing the client’s journey within the luxury environment—which is essential for client acquisition and retention,” said vice chairman Steven Holtzman in a statement.

Earlier this year, C.D. Peacock announced plans to build a new flagship store in the Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Ill.
