On June 30, Sascha Moeri (pictured), the CEO of Carl F. Bucherer, will leave the company after 11 years heading the watch brand.

Moeri, who has also led the Bucherer jewelry division since April 2020, will “pursue new professional challenges,” the company said in a statement.

The statement didn’t spell out Moeri’s next move, but he said in a comment that stepping down “allows me to turn one of my long-held personal visions into a reality.”

Uwe Liebminger, who has served as deputy CEO and chief marketing officer at Carl F. Bucherer since May 2020, will become the brand’s interim CEO.

Liebminger previously worked as head of corporate communications for Breitling and marketing director for IWC Schaffhausen. At Bucherer he was executive vice president of marketing and communications from February through September 2017, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Robert Ambord, who has been the art director of Bucherer Fine Jewellery since August 2021, will become the jewelry division’s interim manager. Prior to joining Bucherer, he was art director at Gübelin Group for 16 years.

When Moeri first took over the Bucherer brand in 2010, he was “one of the youngest CEOs in the history of the watch industry at that time,” according to WorldTempus.

Before coming to Bucherer, Moeri was CEO of Milus Europe and vice president of Milus International, when that brand was owned by Chow Tai Fook.

“We deeply regret Sascha Moeri’s decision,” said Guido Zumbühl, CEO of the Bucherer Group, in the statement. “He has decisively shaped the positive development of the Carl F. Bucherer brand for more than a decade.

“Sascha Moeri was a passionate ambassador for our brand and an individual whose enthusiasm was contagious.… Under his leadership, this segment improved drastically. Today, product development and business operations have made great strides.”

In 2018, Bucherer’s parent company bought the Tourneau watch chain in the United States. It plans to change its name to Bucherer eventually.
