Britt’s Pick: Wildflower Bracelet by Alison Lou

Sunday night’s Golden Globes were a weird affair, but then again, if it wasn’t weird, it wouldn’t have been the Golden Globes.

My favorite award show certainly dealt with its share of difficulties—and stumbled at times—but thankfully it wasn’t without its share of gorgeous looks courtesy of the celebrities in attendance, whether they were there in person or virtually.

One such celebrity was Jared Leto, whose epic flower brooch is one I can’t stop thinking about. “God, is he cool,” my husband said when Leto came on the screen. And he’s right—though some onlookers may have compared the actor’s look to the love child of Sonny and Cher, he was pulling off the long, dark hair and mustache in a way that many can’t (I told my husband not to get any ideas).

But that brooch. That Gucci brooch! It has me thinking about spring even more than I already was, and reaching for every floral adornment possible. Flower jewelry is wonderful always, but this piece in particular is the biggest kick of spring right to the face that you could possibly hope for and I am here for it.

Suffice to say, I’ve got flower jewelry on the brain. And while I adore Leto’s massive statement, I still need something I can slip on at home and not take off for the foreseeable future.

Alison Lou’s enamel wildflower bracelet is perfect. It’s casual, it’s colorful, it’s happy. Each of its flowers has a tiny diamond center that sparkles just the tiniest bit, a perfect low-key luxe statement that will hold me all the way through summer.

I’m partial to the pastels, but the style also comes in an array of pretty pink hues and a brighter, more rainbow-esque combination, too. Really, you can’t go wrong with any option.

This won’t be the last floral piece to scream “spring is here!” and ideally, as we transition to stepping out into the world, we can go bigger, louder, more high-maintenance, even if just for a day. But this is the type of piece that can provide cheer year after year, and I’d be loving it rain or shine, quarantine or not.
