Britt’s Pick: Agnes Opal Cuff by .925Suneera

There was a time not long ago when I was all about the wide cuff bracelet. Recently, those have been replaced by my preference for a thinner, more subtle variety, much like everything that has been swept away in a minimalist trend.

But the Agnes cuff bracelet by .925Suneera has brought me back. The Los Angeles–based sterling silver brand has a knack for beautiful jewels with an edge, and at such a young age, too! Established in 2017 by mother-daughter team Suneera Swarup (whose own line, Suneera, was introduced in 2014) and Ana Swarup, .925Suneera utilizes ethically sourced materials and sustainable practices—my favorite kind of business—with good-looking creations, to boot.

What I love about this particular cuff bracelet—aside from the glaringly obvious, a luscious boulder opal smack dab in the center—is its hammered texture, which to me resembles a cheetah- or leopard-like pattern, which I’m still feeling like a fan of, given its prevalence in fashion as of late.

I also love that side of diamonds, embracing one half of the opal’s curves. That it doesn’t go all the way around makes it feel more organic, subtle but still sufficiently sparkly, and definitely luxe.

For the maximalist, I can just picture this piece in a trio of bracelets, bookended with yellow gold bangles or thin cuffs (to bring out that golden border around the opal). But it’s a stand-alone design at heart and one that deserves to be the headliner it surely proves itself to be.

.925Suneera is exhibiting at JCK Tucson! The show starts tomorrow (Feb. 6), and I think its booth would be the perfect place for trying on an entire arm full of cuff bracelets and taking lots of photos to post on Instagram to show them off. Consider this your invitation to the arm party!
