Britt’s Pick: Lauren K’s Aquamarine Sprinkle Ring

Share

Halloween is less than one week away, and you know what that means—well, it means it’s basically the holiday season! When the calendar flips to Nov. 1, we dust off October’s cobwebs and shine our jingle bells.

This year will undoubtedly see a return of the holiday party in grand fashion, so jewelers should be prepared to display their most festive jewels to accommodate.

Many jewelers have heralded 2022 as the year of color, and that sentiment continues into the winter season, emphasizing the importance of having big, bold gemstones available in store (and online). Which is perfect, because what’s one of the best vehicles for beautifully hued, generous gems? The cocktail ring. And what better embellishment is there for an event-filled holiday schedule?

To kick off cocktail ring season, Lauren K’s aquamarine offering packs a suitably cheery vibe with a design that feels like its own little party. Appropriately named Sprinkle, the ring’s silky 18k yellow gold setting is peppered with a confetti-like arrangement of tsavorite and diamonds, the green-and-white combination a staple of the winter season. At its center, an icy blue aquamarine coming in at just under 9 carats evokes the chill of winter, contained in the warmth of yellow gold, festooned to impress all who see it.

The aquamarine beauty would be a pal for all seasons, the central gemstone associated with such wonderful things as happiness, hope, youth, tranquility, serenity, and trust, depending on who you ask.

The stone is often so appreciated for its beauty and calming effect (much like the seawater it was named for) that it’s become quite popular for important jewels one might wear every day—the engagement ring. In fact, the piece pictured here would do well to serve in that category—albeit not as a completely classic option. Imagine it paired with a wedding band mirroring the tsavorite and diamond sprinkles? What a knockout that would be.
