There’s nothing quite like a good “mommy and me” moment. Especially when it comes courtesy of matching jewelry.
Designer Erin Sachse, founder and creative director of Eriness, has provided us with not one, but two matching options, both featuring gorgeous, lucky ladybugs.
The ladybug comes as a tribute to the designer’s late mother, as a reminder of life’s beauty as well as its fragility. “On the eve of my mother’s passing, I had a vivid dream of being surrounded by millions of ladybugs, and I later learned that on the same night, an 80-square-mile swarm of ladybugs flew over my house,” says Sachse. “Ladybugs continue to show up at the most conspicuous moments in my life, so I’ve come to realize it’s no coincidence. I feel my mother’s presence deeply in them! Just the other day, I was standing outside and on the back of a mail truck was a drawing of a ladybug. I believe in signs like these, and it’s comforting to know that my mother is always watching over me and my family.”
In 14k yellow gold with a rainbow of colored gemstones and pavé diamonds, or in all diamonds, there’s a mama size and a baby size, sold separately. Of course, one could just select the baby version for themselves and wear it around their own necks, or layered with other pendants—it’s adorably irresistible (the same can be said of the significantly larger mama version as well).
Whether they’re purchased as a pair for a mother-daughter duo, best friends, or to style on oneself, these little beauties can be worn as a token of love.
“Sometimes the smallest of symbols carry the greatest meaning, and that is exactly how I feel about ladybugs,” says Sachse. “They say when a ladybug lands on you, it’s a sign of good luck, but I see them as much more. They are protectors, reminding us of our strength and our love, which is such a beautiful message to pass on to your loved ones through a piece of jewelry that can be worn everyday and be carried on for generations to come.”
