Britt’s Pick: The Organic Cuff Bracelet by Sofragem

Today’s Britt’s Pick is a special treat, because not only is it exquisite, but also it transports us to an exotic locale that’s far warmer than our current one (unless you happen to be reading this from somewhere summery, to which I say, as a snowstorm looms, how nice for you).

Seaside pebbles inspired this masterpiece by Sofragem, the Bangkok-based designer and manufacturer of jewelry. The wide cuff features a natural-looking arrangement of these rose gold pebbles—hence the piece’s name, Organic—layered with a glimmering assortment of colored gemstones, in the beachiest, most sunset-like hues: pink and orangey-yellow, offered by tourmaline and fancy color sapphires.

This cuff is luxurious, no doubt about that, but it’s playful, too—and as casual as a creation with more than 22 cts. of gemstones can be. I can picture it on a red carpet, but maybe for something like the Cannes Film Festival, where the fashions are often elaborate and grand, but less serious than what you’ll see on the red carpet of, say, the Academy Awards (though, perhaps the upcoming ceremony on Sunday will prove me wrong?). As for Cannes, that’s in May, so there’s still ample time for stylists to fit this one in (wink).

So far on the red carpet circuit for 2019, necklaces appear to be the major choice overall, but the events haven’t been without a few notable bracelets. If the celebrities and their stylists aren’t keen on incorporating cuffs this year, that’s no problem. I can think of more than a few resort-ready dresses that this would suit just fine, perfect for seaside walks and long evenings on an island, gazing contentedly upon a pile of glimmering pebbles—in jewelry form, that is.
