Britt’s Pick: Fancy Brown Diamond Ring By Rahaminov

It’s still the summer of orange as far as I’m concerned, but Rahaminov might have made the ultimate case for orangey-brown with its latest thriller.

A diamond clicking on at 9.33 cts., the image of it, while pretty spectacular actually, doesn’t begin to do the ring justice (thankfully, Rahaminov has a video to demonstrate its magic powers).

The diamond’s rose gold border, offers a two-tone contrast with its platinum and diamond setting, a brilliant choice given the way it makes the center stone appear utterly at home. While other rings might set such a stone in all platinum or even yellow gold—both of which would be gorgeous—this simple yet impactful choice gives the diamond a chance to show off its color beautifully, striking a balance between the warmth of its yellow tones and a cooler brown.

“It took a long time to design this one-of-a-kind fancy color cushion brilliant diamond to ensure this special color would stand out,” says Melanie Goldfiner Goldberg, Graduate Gemologist and director of business development for Rahaminov. “The rare colored diamond gave a twist to the timeless setting.”

While brightly colored gemstones and big baubles seem to be the headliners going into summer (all of which Rahaminov also offers), don’t sleep on what we consider neutrals—black, white, brown, and the like. Look to this piece as proof: I can’t think of anything this diamond would clash with (and even if it did, who would care?), and it will suit any season no matter the color trends.

Jennifer Lopez may have once again ignited interest in fancy color diamonds, from pink to blue to green, but if I had the dough to drop on a fancy stone, it’d be one like this, no question.

The ring is set to be on display at this year’s JCK show in Las Vegas—unless it sells before then and certainly that doesn’t seem impossible—and I can’t wait to get my hands on it (or rather, it on my hand).
