Brent Neale Brings a Zodiac Theme to Her Magic Mushrooms

Share

Designer Brent Neale Winston never expected that her magic mushroom jewels would come to anchor her collection and become one of her most recognizable signatures.

Four years after she launched Brent Neale, however, the fanciful fungus has cultivated a strong following among her fans, followers, and collectors.

A new collection borrows the inlaid stone mushrooms from her Down the Rabbit Hole collection and embellishes them with Zodiac symbols expressed in complementary gemstones.

The original mushrooms, with their fairyland spots and psychedelic colors, stemmed from the designer’s fascination with Alice in Wonderland and a kind of free-spirited, Pucci-printed version of the 1960s.

“For me personally, the mushroom serves as a talisman for the fact that I wear it every day and it just makes me feel good—it’s as simple as that,” the designer tells JCK.

Layering in a zodiac theme lands the mushrooms into personal talisman territory in a more intentional way—enthusiasm for this jewelry category continues to be strong. And the astrological symbols fit the Brent Neale brand narrative well, transforming the jewel into something extra whimsical (or extra witchy/trippy, as the case may be).

All styles come with a 32-inch chain.

The collection has bowed at Twist, and as a Mother’s Day jewelry gift, its effects might be quite powerful. Don’t believe me? Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know.
