Hollywood has its red carpet, but Boucheron has opted for its signature green at its new West Coast flagship boutique, on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
Not only a welcoming experience and Boucheron’s version of a favorite Hollywood tradition, the green carpet that runs throughout the 449 N. Rodeo Drive boutique could also be likened to a movie’s narrative thread. The storytelling starts on the exterior, as the brand designed a storefront specific to this location, one that blends art deco and a nature-inspired look to draw people in.
The most distinctive exterior feature is a grand sculpture of green terra-cotta volcanic stone surrounding the recessed alcove entrance, with a pattern of unfurling ivy leaves and fern fronds. Two exterior side cases hold Boucheron jewelry pieces, beckoning passersby to come inside.

Other design choices within the 5,296-square-foot boutique, which opened yesterday, also pay homage to its location, balancing Boucheron’s vision of a fine jewelry shopping experience with Beverly Hills luxury.
Inside the store, display cases in the walls are shaped like emerald-cut gemstones and have a unique backdrop—straw marquetry, to reflect the French heritage of Boucheron. These straw strands also are meant to echo the palm trees that one sees all along Rodeo Drive.
The main salesroom features dramatic chandeliers designed by French house Delisle that tie this boutique to Boucheron locations in New York City, Paris, and Tokyo, as they have the same light fixtures.

That main sales space is decorated in shades of powder pink and lime green, and its furnishings are made with quilted linen to evoke that organic, nature-inspired theme found throughout the store, Boucheron says.
A VIP area draws the eye with custom wallpaper incorporating Boucheron ads of the past. This area is designed to look like an Oscars after-party club, Boucheron says, with a custom banquette for group seating, silver satin cushions, a fabric-covered ceiling depicting a starry sky, and an overall palette of pink, blue, and violet.
Walls of the VIP room highlight some of Boucheron’s famous Hollywood clients: A portrait of Elizabeth Taylor is next to a photo of the gemstones she purchased from Boucheron’s Gstaad, Switzerland, boutique in 1984; a photograph of Rita Hayworth sits beside a picture of her Boucheron jewels, including a gold-and-diamond mesh Col Claudine necklace she was gifted by her husband Prince Aly Khan in 1948.

The VIP room’s highlight, according to Boucheron, is a Laetitia Jacquetton sculpture. The fashion designer turned sculptor’s piece, Solide, uses natural rock and blown glass in an unexpected combination, which the jewelry brand said is reflective of its own philosophy that all materials are precious in their own ways.
Its new Beverly Hills store is a significant part of Boucheron’s U.S. expansion, the brand says. Boucheron CEO Hélène Poulit-Duquesne works with her design team to create special spaces that are unique to each location—such as the 1,560-square-foot boutique that opened last December inside Las Vegas’ Fontainebleau resort, with interior design that mixes Parisian elegance with Vegas flash.
