Share

Belk has appointed MaryAnne Morin (pictured) as its president and chief merchandising officer.

She will report to Belk CEO Don Hendricks, who was appointed to the top job in September. Before becoming interim and later permanent CEO, Hendricks served in the president role since 2021.

Morin joined the department store chain on Oct. 26. She will lead the company’s merchandising, planning, and private brands teams.

Morin has worked in retail for three decades. She previously served as president at both Stein Mart and Republic Clothing Group. She was also executive vice president at Hudson’s Bay Co., and worked for Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, and Echo Design Group.

She replaces former Kohl’s executive Chris Kolbe, who joined the retailer in June 2021 and departed in June 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Based in Charlotte, N.C., Belk comprises nearly 300 department stores in the southeastern United States.
