Bario Neal To Open Brooklyn Outpost

Share

Bario Neal, the Philadelphia-based fine jewelry company started by Anna Bario and Page Neal in 2008, has inked a deal to open an outpost in Brooklyn, N.Y. The store is slated to open at the beginning of October.

Although Bario Neal has operated a by-appointment-only showroom on the Lower East Side since 2014, this marks the first sidewalk-facing public storefront in New York City.

“Part of it was finding a space that really spoke to us,” Bario tells JCK. “We’ve loved being in Manhattan, but we’ve seen things shift with the pandemic. There are are a lot of other jewelry stores in the Brooklyn neighborhood. We often see clients making multiple appointments, tour collections, and so we wanted to be in that jewelry destination.”

The Brooklyn store, a 1,600-square-foot location at 155 Grand Street, will resemble the company’s 10-year-old Philadelphia flagship that doubles as both a production workshop and retail space. A diverse group of skilled jewelers and sales staff will work next to the collection displays. They are trained to help customers realize their vision, whether through a custom design or an item from one of Bario Neal’s collections.

Bario says the store will have playful aesthetic with a lot of color (primarily teal, matte black, and coral) and beautiful marble, slate, and tile display cases.

“Brooklyn is downright cool,” says Bario. “There are emerging brands and fellow artists, pop-ups, exhibitions, and stylist events. It’s a really collaborative space. Page and I love collaborations, and we will host those kind of events.”

Bario Neal is known for being an industry leader in ethical sourcing. Each piece is designed in-house and handcrafted with reclaimed precious metals, Fairmined gold, and ethically sourced stones.

The store will house earrings, necklaces, bracelets—essentially everything that’s available online. The majority of rings are made to order, but everything else will be available for same-day purchase.
