Industry veteran Andrea Lucille Pooler (pictured) was named chief operating officer for Modani Jewels and its core divisions, which include Soham Diamonds and SNJ Creations.

Pooler’s appointment is “strengthening the firm’s leadership team as it continues to scale operations and accelerate growth,” said Sumit Modani, CEO of the third-generation family company, in a statement. Pooler brings creative expertise and data-driven knowledge to Modani from 25-plus years of experience in the jewelry business, the statement said.

Most recently, Pooler was principal consultant at Hill & Co., where she led end-to-end business transformation and strategy for retailers, designers, wholesale businesses, and manufacturers. She previously was an operations manager at James Allen, and from 2000 to 2015 she had her own brand and retail store as a jewelry designer.

Pooler serves as editor in chief of The Source, a publication of the Community for Ethical Jewelry, and as chair of the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Metro New York chapter. She also works as a volunteer jewelry appraiser for a hospice store.

“I’m thrilled to join Sumit and the incredible team at Modani,” Pooler said in a statement. “This company has an inspiring heritage and a vision for the future that honors both tradition and innovation. I look forward to helping scale our operations, strengthen global systems, and expand our presence in key markets.”
