5 Awesome Jewelry Looks From the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards
The 2019 awards season has only just begun, but already we’re seeing stylists and their celebrity clients prioritize jewelry in a huge way (see our Golden Globes jewelry coverage here).
And not the kind that’s always been there—the pretty-but-tame colorless diamond pieces. But oversize, colorful, and downright significant jewels, often inspired by iconic designs from jewelry’s heydays gone by, including the Art Deco era and the brash, maximalist ’80s.
A-listers attending last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles gravitated toward colorful pieces that felt plucked from the archives of storied jewelry houses. The volume and variety of pieces, paired with the smart styling of equally A-list stylists, was fantastic to see.
Here are my five favorite jewelry looks from the evening:
Critic’s Choice winner Rachel Brosnahan in Nikos Koulis emerald earrings (via: @rachelbrosnahanstyle). Below: Brosnahan also wore emerald and diamond rings from Ana Khouri (via: @deborahlippmann).
Lucy Boynton in a Gucci dress and Niwaka floral earrings and rings (via: @niwaka_collections). The gems are detailed below (photo courtesy of Niwaka).
Above and top: Julia Roberts wearing Louis Vuitton and Messika Paris’ Madeleine choker from the brand’s Paris Est Une Fête high jewelry collection (detailed below), the Toi & Moi ring from Messika’s high jewelry Private collection, and the Glam’Azone double ring (also detailed below).
