An 8.41 ct. fancy vivid purple-pink diamond will headline Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels auction on Nov. 24, part of the auction house’s Hong Kong Luxury Week. The sale will offer more than 120 lots spanning colored diamonds and gemstones, jadeite, natural pearls, and signed jewelry.

Called the Pink Petal, the pear-shape diamond (pictured at top, photo courtesy of Christie’s) is graded VVS1 and has been classified as a potential Type IIa diamond. Mounted as a ring, it carries an estimate of HK$65 million to HK$95 million ($8.3 million to $12 million).

Colored stone highlights include a 21.05 ct. unheated Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring mounted by Cartier, estimated at $3.9 million to $6.4 million, and an 18.20 ct. Colombian emerald and diamond ring with a $710,000 to $1 million estimate. An unheated 5.03 ct. Burmese pigeon’s-blood ruby and diamond ring is expected to bring $1.3 million to $1.8 million.

Also on the block is an art deco Cartier brooch set with a 10.1 ct. unheated Burmese pigeon’s-blood ruby (pictured at right, photo courtesy of Christie’s). The jewel is estimated at HK$40 million to HK$60 million ($5.2 million to $7.7 million). A 100.16 ct. unheated Burmese royal blue sapphire and diamond pendant is another featured lot.

Jadeite will have a substantial presence in the sale, led by a necklace comprising 33 jadeite beads measuring between 16.1 mm and 12.6 mm. It carries an estimate of $2.5 million to $3.8 million. Other jadeite offerings include a bangle expected to fetch between $1.2 million and $1.9 million.

Among the jewels with notable provenance is a pair of natural pearl and diamond earrings made by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1957 for the Duchess of Windsor. Each features either a black or white natural pearl surrounded by diamonds. The earrings subsequently belonged to American designer Calvin Klein.

Signed jewelry will also include a ruby, emerald, and diamond mystery-set necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels, estimated at $830,000 to $1.5 million, as well as pieces by Cartier, Bulgari, Graff, Harry Winston, and Tiffany & Co.
