From Rio to Tokyo, these looks are all the rage
Young, fabulously outfitted women used to clamor to be featured on street style blogs like The Sartorialist and FaceHunter.
Now, thanks to Instagram, they have a direct line to their fashion-hungry fans, and they can control every aspect of their image, down to the sparkle of their diamond ear climbers.
These modern style influencers are often paid huge bucks by brands to wear product in their Instagram posts (all sponsored posts should be labeled as such with a #sponsored or #ad) and are the undisputed fashion superstars of the day for the under-30 set.
Naturally, it behooves jewelry retailers to follow them on Instagram—and to study the jewelry styles (and styling) they’re pushing out on their feeds.
Here are a handful of jewelry trends currently in rotation on the feeds of global style superstars:

Chokers—thin, thick, mesh, metal, whatever. A year after they really “hit,” they’re still immensely popular with style influencers. Here’s gorgeous Brazilian model and style influencer Gizele Oliveira (above), who has 362,000 followers, in a pretty layered-choker look.

Earrings that fall to (and beyond) the shoulders are everywhere on Instagram’s most stylish feeds. Here’s photographer Margaret Zhang (837,000 followers) in some minimal ear drops and influencer Charlotte Groeneveld (271,000 followers) in a pair of fun, summery shoulder dusters.

Luxe, all-gold styles—particularly openwork rings, bracelets, and pendants—are red-hot in the ’Gram stylesphere. Classic gold hoop earrings, too, are a biggie trend. Here’s Camille Charrière, a “Parisienne in London” with 498,000 followers, getting her gold on on some beautiful, far-flung beach.
ART SCHOOL COOL

After years of sinewy, sexy jewelry dominating center stage, certain cerebral style influencers, such as stylist and creative director Pernille Teisbaek (442,000 followers), are embracing an artier approach to adornment.

Bold, rustic (often tribal-inspired) jewelry is increasingly popular on the feeds of style influencers, especially when they’re on vacation (in trendy Tulum!). Here’s Julie Sariñana, the Los Angeles blogger who boasts a stunning 4.3 million followers on Instagram, in a fetching Eastern-inspired bib necklace. Keep this vibe in mind when buying for summer.
