Friday 5: The Best Jewelry Looks of Cannes 2012

The opening ceremony of the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival took place Wednesday, May 16. The festival, which previews new films and documentaries from around the world, is among my favorites for red carpet sightings (my love of the French Riviera may have something to do with it). Check out my five favorite jewelry looks from the Cannes red carpet (and comment with your favorites, too).

Lily royal diamond necklace

Lili Jewelry’s Royal diamond statement necklace would have fit right in on the Cannes red carpet!

Diane Kruger

Kruger is always a hit on the red carpet, and her ensemble at Cannes was no exception. The stunning German actress wore an ethereal Giambattista Vali gown in a minty shade of green, and added shine with gorgeous earrings from Boucheron Cypris and a subtle bracelet.

Lana Del Rey

There was nothing excessive or even special about the songstress’ Alberta Ferretti dress, but with a Chopard necklace like that, I think Del Rey looked perfect. The diamond sparkler and classically wavy hair completed her timeless look.

Eva Herzigova

I can’t decide how I feel about the model’s overall ensemble, but I’m not even looking at her lacy frock (a custom Dolce & Gabbana). The impressive jewels around her neck are courtesy of Chopard, who paid tribute to the timeless elegance of Marilyn Monroe with the design. More than 210 carats of diamonds make up the necklace and earrings suite.

Fan Bingbing

The Chinese actress and singer’s strapless Christopher Bu gown was interesting in its own right, but I love her look for the Chopard earrings paired with a bright, orangey-red lip. Now that is how you rock emerald jewels.

Freida Pinto

The Slumdog Millionaire actress is consistently one of my favorites on the red carpet, simply because she’s just so lovely. Her Michael Angel dress was fresh, colorful, and sensational. Chopard jewels in the form of earrings and a ring completed the look.
