Crime Alert Network for New York Jewelers Launched

The New York Jewelers Crime Alert Network announced Tuesday that it has more than 100 subscribers have joined since its formation in December.

The network, formed at the request of the Jewelers’ Security Alliance, is a free service to the jewelry industry. Members of the jewelry industry and law enforcement are eligible to participate. Jewelers who experience a crime or suspicious incident, such as a grab & run, armed robbery, distraction theft, traveling salesperson theft, credit card scam, etc., in the New York City area, are encouraged to contact the network administrator (after notifying the police) at crimealert@nyjcan.com. A Crime Alert about the incident will then be quickly distributed to the members of the network. All efforts will be made to maintain the confidentiality of the victims.

For more information on how to join the network, please visit the website at www.nyjcan.com or e-mail admin@nyjcan.com. Individuals who wish to receive Crime Alerts are asked to provide their contact information and an email address or fax number.
