Samuel B. Surpasses 1 Million Meals For Feeding America

New York–based jeweler Samuel B. announced it has just surpassed one million meals donated to Feeding America, the largest hunger relief organization in the U.S.

During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, Samuel B.’s vice president of sales and marketing Mathew Benham saw the need to provide nourishment to underprivileged families, as a food bank popped up in his Brooklyn, N.Y., neighborhood. While the company had been planning to open a school in Bali prior to this, they opted to pivot their plans for giving back to something that could be done during the pandemic.

The company was able to partner with Feeding America, agreeing to donate 10 meals for every piece of jewelry sold to its network of independent retailers. The initiative was launched in May 2020, and Samuel B.’s retailers were provided with signage and information to help the company reach its goal.

“We stand together with Feeding America alongside our retail partners, proud that, to date, over one million meals have been provided to help people in need,” said Benham, in a statement. “Our company continues to donate 10 meals for every piece of jewelry purchased and remains committed to the largest domestic hunger-relief organization.”
