Picking a favorite piece from this year’s jewelry auctions was more difficult than I thought it would be.
In the end, I narrowed it down to the Eric Clapton watch that sold for $3.6 million, Elvis’ Omega Constellation that raked in $52,500, and Steve McQueen’s watch that hauled in $799,500 and was featured on an episode of Breaking Bad.
That’s a lot of cool to choose from if you’re a guy. However, I realized I had an easy decision; check out this car chase scene from the movie Bullitt to understand my rationale.
Elvis’ hips may have swung like no white man’s ever, Clapton may have penned one of the greatest rock love songs ever, but no one does cool like Steve McQueen.
So while McQueen’s watch gets my nod for the best jewelry item bought at auction in 2012, I’m eager to find out our readers’ favorites from the past year. There is plenty of expensive bling to choose from!
