What’s Selling in Stores This Week: Men’s Watches

We asked four jewelers in four different parts of the country to share their best-selling men’s watch this week.

 

WEST

McWherter’s JewelersSalinas, Calif. Original Grain stainless steel and rosewood watch, $195

Watch brand Original Grain is a recent Kickstarter success story and has been very popular at McWherter’s Jewelers. “These guys make a really cool watch,” owner David McWherter says, attributing its popularity to an innovative design. 

 

CENTRAL

Samuel Gordon Jewelers, Oklahoma City, Okla. Tag Heuer Aquaracer, $1,600–$3,100

With its wide price range and resilient design, the Aquaracer is a hot seller for Samuel Gordon. “They’re good-looking watches,” explains office manager Denesha Alexander. “They’re very affordable, and the company has a great track record for service.”

 

EAST

Wick & Greene Jewelers, Asheville, N.C. Bulova Accutron II, $900–$2,000

Accutron models are the flavor of the month at Wick & Greene, says owner Michael Greene, adding “the price is good and the quality is great. Any of the sporty styles are big sellers right now.”

 

SOUTH

Holland’s Fine Jewelry, San Angelo, Texas. Rolex Submariner and GMT-Master, $7,500–$9,900

Rolex, says owner Bill Holland, has “a quality and reputation that is nearly unmatched.” The two models “have good style that is acceptable for all occasions and dress.”
