Movado Honors Derek Jeter

Baseball great Derek Jeter, who recently topped Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig’s 71-year record for most hits at Yankee Stadium, is being honored by Movado with the Movado Series 800 Derek Jeter Automatic Chronographs.

The four versions debuted Sept. 16 at a New York City event co-hosted by Movado and Jeter (pictured), who worked closely with Movado’s design team. The watchmaker is also donating $100,000 to Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation, which encourages healthy lifestyles and academic achievement for young people.

Jeff Cohen, Movado Worldwide president, said the New York Yankees shortstop “embodies everything the Movado Series 800 stands for—timing, innovation and a commitment to excellence.”

The four versions are: A 10-piece limited edition (18k rose gold, stripe-textured black dial, Swiss automatic movement, sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, engraved with Jeter’s name and number, also on gold rotor, with custom-designed watch winder), $25,000 retail; a 100-piece limited edition (18K rose gold and black PVD, Swiss automatic movement, stripe-textured black dial, sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, engraved with Jeter’s name and number, also on black PVD rotor), $7,700 retail; and two 1000-piece special editions (both bracelet models, stripe-textured dials in blue or black, Swiss quartz movement, custom-designed caseback engraved with Jeter’s name and number), $1,700 each.
