West Coast Jewelry Show Debuts in August

H2 Events, run by Howard Hauben, founder of the Centurion Show and other industry events, and the California Jewelers Association (CJA) have announced an agreement to jointly promote a new fine-jewelry trade show called the West Coast Jewelry Show, The Holiday Buying Event (formerly The Pacific Jewelry Show). The event aims to serve the holiday ordering needs of retail jewelers throughout the western United States and elsewhere. The inaugural show will take place Aug. 28-29, 2005, at the Century Plaza Hotel & Spa, on the border between Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. According to show management, the Century Plaza was chosen because of its intimacy, elegance, and convenience as well as its highly successful track record hosting the Pacific Jewelry Show in years past.

Exhibitors at the West Coast Jewelry Show will display their products in two large ballrooms, and the show will include an area focusing exclusively on prestige-level designers and manufacturers.

On Aug. 27, CJA’s annual Robert B. Westover Award Reception will take place. In addition, plans are in the works for an exhibitor-sponsored, post-show reception for all attendees and exhibitors on Sunday evening.

The show will also offer a series of retailer-focused educational seminars each morning, produced by CJA.

The California Jewelers Association is an affiliate of Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for retail jewelers. JA and the California Jewelers Association advocate high ethical standards, promote professional business and leadership skills, and enhance their members’ profitability by offering education, certification, marketing, and cost-saving programs.
