Time to Enter the JCK Jewelers Choice Awards!

Hard to believe, but it has been a full year since our inaugural JCK Jewelers Choice Awards!

As I’ve mentioned before, last year’s awards were a tremendous success, with 430 entries and 11,054 retailer votes. We’re confident this year’s contest will be just as exciting—if not more so! We’ve added a spectacular, tabloid-size JCK Jewelers Choice Awards print preview, to be distributed with the November issue of JCK magazine, just as the voting Web site opens to let retailers cast their votes.

As we did last year, we’ll celebrate the winners in each category in the March issue of JCK, and the winners and finalists will be celebrated in a special April supplement to the magazine. Once again, we’ll have a huge display of the winners during the opening night cocktail party at The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas. Finally, we’ll again distribute counter cards, lapel pins, and logos to winners and finalists for use at trade shows, in advertisements, and in any other promotions you can dream up.

We’ll be accepting submissions from manufacturers until Sept. 20, so it’s time to go online and get the details. Visit www.jckonline.com/jewelerschoiceawards today for all the important information. Good luck!

On another note, congratulations to the Women’s Jewelry Association and American Gem Society for their successful events during the JA New York Show. The WJA Diva Awards was a terrific hit once again. It’s still the only event that allows everyone to get up and mingle for dessert—such a great idea. There’s something about the WJA events that I always find enjoyable. Perhaps it’s simply a reflection of the terrific women in this industry.

My first industry event, four years ago, was the AGS Circle of Distinction party at the Rainbow Room, so the evening has a special place in my heart. This year’s event was as wonderful as ever, and the fact that the six honorees are folks I like very much (Cyma Watches’ Hugh Glenn, ABN AMRO’s Anna Martin, JSA’s John Kennedy, GIA’s Russ Shor, and JCK‘s very own Carrie Soucy and Jennifer Heebner) made the evening great.

I’m off to Shenzhen and Hong Kong this month, plus Mumbai in October, so I’m looking forward to seeing our many good friends from around the world in the weeks to come.

Now, go enter the awards!
