SCHACHTER NAMDAR, GOLDMAN TEAM UP

Schachter Namdar, an Israeli exporter of polished diamonds, has formed a joint venture with New York jewelry manufacturer Frederick Goldman Inc. The new company, Goldman/Schachter Namdar Diamond Brands, will manufacture and market brand-name diamond jewelry for retailers and supply diamonds for Goldman’s bridal business, including its Keepsake Diamonds line.

The Schachter Namdar group is a DeBeers sightholder and Israel’s largest exporter of polished diamonds, with exports exceeding $300 million in 1997. It recently announced the purchase of the Botswana diamond cutting business of Lazare Kaplan.

Frederick Goldman Inc.’s divisions include Diana, its designer line; Goldman, its independent division; B.F. Hirsch, its mall store division; and Keepsake, its fine diamond jewelry division.

INVERNESS ADDS DIAMOND SIZES

Fair Lawn, N.J.-based Inverness Corp. has added new diamond sizes to its collection of piercing earrings, available in 14k gold. The company now offers diamond piercing earrings in .03 ct., .05 ct., .075 ct., and .10 ct. sizes. All diamond piercing earrings come in single cartridges.

The company’s piercing earrings are packaged in a sterilized cassette.

CARLA CORP. DEBUTS LINE OF LOCKETS

Carla Corp., a manufacturer of 14k gold, gold-filled, and sterling silver jewelry in East Providence, R.I., has introduced a locket line by the designer Janel Russell. The new line debuted at The JCK Show in Las Vegas in June. Included in the collection are 14k yellow and white gold traditional and family lockets, lockets with diamond pavé accents, and new, smaller traditional lockets designed to express the bond between mother and child.
