The 2006 Society of North American Goldsmith’s Conference will be held May 24–27 at the Marriott Chicago Downtown on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. The theme for 2006 is “Mind and Matter: From Thought to Object,” and programs will explore all aspects of the creative process, from initial inspiration to final realization. The conference is hosted by the Chicago Metal Arts and co-chaired by Alix Mikesell and Pam Robinson. Supporting the conference are 3M, Rio Grande, and an anonymous foundation. Sculptor Tom Friedman will deliver the keynote address, and 11 other presenters will share their thoughts and observations. “In Flux,” the SNAG annual juried student slide show, will showcase the best of current student work.
