Sapphire

Blue sapphire was traditionally worn by kings as a symbol of their divine right to rule. (Blue represented the sky, the heavenly domain whence they derived their kingly clout.) Sapphire was said to guard against envy and attract divine favor while imparting truth, sincerity, and constancy. September’s birthstone also countered the spirits of darkness, secured the help of spirits of light, and ensured good health and good fortune.
