The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Overseas Diamonds Inc. its first U.S. patent (Patent No. 6786733) based on its Isee2 project. One aspect of the patent covers the education of consumers—for example, in a retail environment—on the evaluation of a diamond or gemstone by displaying images indicating how the cut of the diamond or gemstone handles light, and further data such as images of an actual diamond or gemstone or its optical properties.
