CRJP Releases Code of Practices
The Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices released its finalized Code of Practices at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair. The 16-page code articulates the ethical, social, and environmental practices that the Council expects its members to abide by. It went through several reviews by CRJP’s stakeholders, as well as governments, NGOs, and host communities.

Haag Goes to Verdura
Jim Haag has joined New York jewelry manufacturer Verdura as executive director of sales and marketing strategy. Prior to joining Verdura, Haag was the managing director for sales and marketing for Jacob & Co. He also handled marketing for Harry Winston and managed the De Beers account at J. Walter Thompson.
Rapaport Conference Will Coincide With JCK Invitational
The Annual Rapaport International Diamond Conference will take place during next year’s JCK Invitational. The JCK event is scheduled for Feb. 4–6, 2007, at the Hilton Hotel in NYC. The one-day Rapaport Diamond Conference will take place Feb. 5, 2007. The conference will focus on such topics as branding, conflict diamonds, and the Internet. All profits will be donated to Jewelers for Children.
