Vision Numeric has released the latest version of its CAD/CAM Software—TypeEdit 2003+. TypeEdit allows the user to create 3-D images from 2-D artwork. Logos and patterns can be imported from other file formats, and customized 3-D textures can be created and applied to any type of material. The design and machining modules are integrated so there’s no need to import, export, or go back and forth between programs.

TypeEdit 2003+ includes a multi-tool sequence function for greater accuracy, safety, and efficiency; a revamped matrix function for positioning elements according to machine type; a weaving function that allows a user to create reliefs with the look of a weaving; 3-D view, which allows the user to visualize and control the work at any time; additional arc creation options; and improved import capabilities that allow the user to work with additional file formats.
