New Programs at Atlanta Show

The Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) held its Atlanta Jewelry Show March 1-3, 2003, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The show boasted a number of new programs, including an expanded “SJTA U” educational program; a keynote address by Dr. Michael Solomon, Human Sciences Professor of Consumer Behavior at Auburn University; and a new buyer recognition program, “Star Stores,” for loyal show attendees. SJTA also brought back its “Tanks on Us” promotion, in which all retailers who pre-registered for the show were provided with a coupon redeemable for a free gasoline card when they received their credentials at the show. The program resulted in a 12% increase in show pre-registration over last year. Other popular buyer service programs included the “hotter than hot” Caribbean-themed Sunday night buyer gala, and “Market Day at AmericasMart.”

The summer SJTA show is scheduled for Aug. 2-4, 2003. For information, contact SJTA, 4 Executive Park Drive, Suite 1202, Atlanta, GA 30329; (800) 241-0399 or (404) 634-3434, e-mail: sjta@mindspring.com, www.atlantajewelryshow.com
