Museum Piece: Natural Selections

The San Diego Natural History Museum has added a little sparkle with a gem-tastic yearlong exhibition. All That Glitters: The Splendor and Science of Gems and Minerals features jewels from Tiffany and Cartier, stones from the Smithsonian and the GIA, and much more—like this 1945-era pomegranate brooch (with peridot, ruby cabochons, and yellow diamonds) from ex–Chanel designer/Cole Porter pal Fulco di Verdura. Splendor runs through April 2012; for more, visit sdnhm.org.
