Sen. Deborah Stabenow (D-Mich.) recently visited the Diamond Dealers Club on a trip to learn more about the diamond industry. Stabenow first got involved with the diamond business through a connection involving her finance chief, whose brother-in-law, Elliot Krischer, is a DDC member. Stabenow toured the club floor and told JCK that she hoped to work with the industry to help resolve the “conflict diamond” issue.
