Jewelers Vigilance Committee has released a new publication called the “Manufacturer’s Legal Handbook,” which JVC describes as “a concise guide to legal compliance [that] covers many of the areas of the law which jewelry manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, and designers address on a daily basis.”

JVC developed the handbook to educate jewelry manufacturers on ways to avoid problems that may lead to legal disputes. JVC says the new handbook can help jewelry manufacturers navigate through often-confusing laws and regulations. Contract law, trade laws, employment practices, workplace and product safety, and anti-money-laundering requirements are among the topics covered in the book. The handbook is made possible by a grant from the JCK Industry Fund.
