As part of its semiannual Career Forum, The Jewelry Design Professionals’ Network (JDPN) will present an evening of learning and inspiration with guest speakers Shaye Strager and Duvall O’Steen. It will be held Oct. 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Katie Murphy Amphitheatre at the Fashion Institute of Technology (New York City), Building D, off the lobby.

Strager and O’Steen are industry experts in trends and promotion and have appeared on national television in that capacity.

As a jewelry stylist and trends forecaster, Strager works closely with celebrities, fashion designers, and fashion magazines, advising them on the latest looks. In addition to appearing regularly on the CBS Early Show as “Trend Tracker,” she has been on The View, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and other programs. In 1997, she started her career educating consumers as spokesperson for the Jewelry Information Center.

For the past five years, Duvall O’Steen has overseen the jewelry public relations and promotions for the World Gold Council. In addition to being responsible for WGC’s trade communications and product development programs, she acts as the organization’s spokesperson at industry events and on TV. She was recently featured on QVC as an “Italian Gold Expert.”
