JCK Orlando Adds Enhancements

The JCK Show ~ Orlando, slated for Feb. 2-4, 2003, at the Orange County Convention Center, will have a better segmented show floor to address the social and comfort needs of show participants as well as educational seminars that focus on profitability. The JCK Orlando show dates do not coincide with any other industry shows this year. The event will feature approximately 700 high-caliber exhibitors.

The new StyleMaker Pavilion, a showcase of jewelry manufacturing companies, “was conceived as a ‘style-centric’ pavilion of dynamic jewelry makers who serve the needs of trend-conscious customers,” says Cindy Edelstein, president of Jeweler’s Resource Bureau, a JCK Show consultant and innovator of the pavilion.

The show also will feature a new centrally located café and lounge, the Center of Style, which is intended to be “a convenient spot for attendees and exhibitors to relax, network, and pick up a bite to eat,” says Dave Bonaparte, vice president of The JCK Shows.

Two new complimentary evening networking events are scheduled in the Center of Style Lounge, says Bonaparte. A Wine and Cheese Welcome Reception will take place Sunday, Feb. 2, 4:30-6:00 p.m., and a champagne-and-strawberries social will be held Monday, Feb. 3, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Soft drinks will be available at both events.

Eleven new sessions will enhance the educational program, which is divided into retail, business, and diamonds tracks. Two extended sessions aimed at increasing profitability will be held Monday, Feb. 3: “The Cup Theory: Identifying and Managing ‘Drivers’ of Profitability,” presented by Steve Hegg, Business Resource Services, in the business track; and “The Rapaport Breakfast: Status of the Industry,” presented by Martin Rapaport of The Rapaport Report, as part of the diamonds track. The Diamond Promotion Service (DPS) will host a breakfast event Sunday, Feb. 2, 8:00-9:50 a.m., titled “How to Make a Statement in Your Diamond Business,” featuring Diane Warga-Arias.
