JA ETHICS PROGRAM ENTERS NEXT PHASE

The Jewelers of America Ethics Program has entered its next stage. Beginning in January 2000, all new and renewing JA members were sent a copy of theJA Code of Ethics. Retailers wishing to join JA were asked to voluntarily sign the documents as part of the application process. By mid-May, more than 9,300 JA members had signed.

JA’s ethics program is designed to “raise the bar” of professionalism in the jewelry industry. The ultimate goal of the program is to increase consumer confidence in JA member retailers and the entire jewelry industry.
