A federal jury in Seattle dismissed Blue Nile‘s $60.1 million claim against the Yehuda Diamond Co. following a six-day trial, reaffirming Yehuda Diamond’s right to compare the prices of its clarity-enhanced diamonds to the untreated diamonds sold by Blue Nile, according to a Yehuda statement.

ASSOCIATIONS

For the second year in a row, Alabama Jewelers Association and Georgia Jewelers Association will hold a joint convention. The meeting will take place April 9–11 in Destin, Fla., at Sandestin Resort. The weekend schedule will include a golf tournament and deep sea fishing.

The board of directors of the Ohio Jewelers Association has voted unanimously to change the name of the Columbus Jewelry Show to the Mid America Jewelry Show. In addition, the Ohio Jewelers Association will change its name to the Mid America Jewelers Association and accept membership from retail jewelers in states “that have supported the Columbus Jewelry Show,” the organization said.
