Colored Stones: Enamel Jewelry by Andy Lif and Nina Runsdorf

CAN'T-MISS COLLECTION Plique-à-Jour Thing In the crowded landscape of contemporary jewelry design, it’s rare to discover a collection that feels genuinely fresh. But that’s the case with Andy Lif, the Los Angeles–based brand founded by designer Andy “Lif” Lifschutz. The atelier’s Speed of Color series marries buttery 18k yellow gold with vibrant colored gemstones (sapphires, garnets, tourmalines, and colored diamonds) and equally electric enamel, achieved through the ancient plique-à-jour technique that creates a stained-glass look. Lifschutz says the old-meets-new collection of rings, earrings, and pendant necklaces was inspired by his “love of craftsmanship, culture, and both the beauty and grit of life.” Viva colore!
