ComCo, the Swiss ­Competition Commission, has launched an investigation into Swatch Group. The world’s largest watch­­maker initiated the investigation to come to a mutually agreed-upon solution that will allow Swatch to gradually reduce third-party deliveries of mechanical watch movements and assortments to third parties. Swatch CEO Nick Hayek recently complained to Dow Jones Newswire: “There is no industry in the world where one player should be obliged to sell the most important component to competitors.”
