Atlanta Jewelry Show Hosts Student Designers

Together with the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA), the Savannah College of Art and Design will host the second annual Student Design Competition during the Atlanta Jewelry Show, Feb. 26-28. Themed "Trip to the Movies," this year's competition challenged students and alumni from Savannah College of Art and Design's metals and jewelry program to design a commercial piece of jewelry inspired by the style, content, and aesthetics from a particular movie of their choosing. The competition will culminate with an awards presentation, led by special guest judge and famed jewelry designer Henry Dunay, on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Dunay also will lead an exclusive seminar for the students, which will allow them a glimpse into the career of a consummate jewelry designer.
