Appointments

The Gemological Institute of America has appointed Terri Ottaway as curator of its museum. Ottaway, who holds a master’s degree in geology from the University of Toronto, has worked for 22 years in the earth sciences department of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.

Francine Trudeau has been appointed manager of the Cartier boutique located at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, Ariz. Trudeau will be responsible for the daily operations of the boutique, as well as for introducing Cartier to the community through various philanthropic and arts-related activities. She has worked in the luxury products management sector since 1992.

Paul H. Gesswein & Co. Inc., a distributor of tools, equipment and supplies for jewelry and mold and die manufacturers, has announced two appointments: James D. McDowell has joined the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing, and Scott Petrillo has assumed the newly created position of trade show manager.

Shiu Shao has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Colibri Group. Shao previously filled those positions at OroAmerica.

Fabian Krone is the new managing director of the luxury watch firm Lange Uhren GmbH, Glashütte, Germany, taking on responsibility for marketing and sales.
