  • Diane Warga-Arias has joined Gem Certification and Appraisal Lab, which is owned by Collector’s Universe, an authenticator of coins, stamps, and other high-value items.
    GCAL, based in New York’s Diamond District, owns the Gemprint diamond identification and registration system, which according to Warga-Arias, will be offered exclusively through GCAL.

  • The Women’s Jewelry Association has announced the appointment of Ann Schonwetter Arnold, chief financial officer/vice president of Lieberfarb Inc., as its new president, succeeding Anna Martin of ABN AMRO. Arnold has been a member of the WJA board for the past five years, serving as treasurer and, since 2004, its first vice president.
    Arnold is the eighth president of the national volunteer organization representing the interests of professional women in the jewelry, watch, and related industries. She will serve for two years.
    Arnold grew up in the jewelry industry. After graduating from Lehigh University with high honors, she earned her CPA working for Deloitte & Touche. In 1993, Arnold joined Lieberfarb Inc., where she oversees finances and sales.

  • Davena Liepman has been named vice president of sales for the Southwest MidasTexan Show. Liepman is an active member of the Southwest Women’s Jewelry Association and was one of the founding members of the Lone Star GIA Associates and Alumni.

  • Ultimate Shopping Network has hired David Normanas vice president, jewelry merchandising. Norman, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the jewelry industry, is responsible for overseeing jewelry merchandising functions and also is in charge of merchandise scheduling for USN programs and training the sales hosts.

  • Lisa D. Hudson has been named director of marketing and merchandising for Tycoon. She is responsible for all marketing, advertising, public relations, merchandising, and training programs and will also guide product development and research.

  • Sector Group USA has named Dennis Phillips to the position of vice president of sales. Phillips was most recently president of Fendi watches in the United States and has also held positions at Ebel USA and Swatch Group USA.
