Appointments

  • The Colibri Group Inc. has appointed Michael McCombs as executive vice president of global sales. McCombs began a 25-year career at Gillette as a territory sales rep and also served as key account manager, district supervisor, district sales manager, and regional marketing manager. Most recently, he held the position of vice president, account development for Oral B/Braun.

  • Chad Allison has named Kenneth Karlin to the new post of managing director. Karlin brings 28 years of experience to the company, having held numerous executive posts in the industry.

  • Catherine Sproule has joined the Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices, as director of North American operations. Sproule will be the primary representative of the CRJP Secretariat in North America, with the key tasks of establishing and maintaining the organization’s relationships with members and stakeholders in Canada and the United States. In addition, she will be responsible for the management of CRJP’s global finances and administration.

  • Sterling Reputation appointed Monalisa DePina director of sales and marketing. She previously worked for Reed Exhibitions, organizer of The JCK Shows, in customer service and sales.

  • The International Colored Gemstone Association has announced the appointment of Yu Xiaojin as the new ICA ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. He is president of Bonny Gemstone Inc. in Beijing and teaches mineralogy and gemology at the Beijing University of Science & Technology. He is also the vice secretary-general of Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China responsible for international public relations.
