North American fine-jewelry retailer Zale Corp. has elected David Szymanski to its board of directors.

Szymanski, who presently serves on the National Retail Federation Foundation Board, serves as the Director of the Center for Retailing Studies at the Texas A&M University—a premier institution for retailing education, preparing college students for retailing careers, and serving the needs of retailers.

“David has a great level of retail and marketing insight which will be a tremendous asset to the Zale board. The company has worked closely with David in the past and is very pleased to have him as a member of our team,” Glen Adams, Chairman of the Zale Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, said in a statement.
