Zale names Leonard to head Piercing Pagoda

Zale Corp., Irving, Texas, North America’s largest specialty retailer of fine jewelry, named Paul Leonard as President of Piercing Pagoda, the company said in a statement. Leonard will oversee the day-to-day operations and report to Mary Forte, executive vice president and chief merchandise officer of Zale.

A former executive with Zale Corp., Leonard brings more than 25 years of retailing and merchandising experience to his new position. He first joined the Company in 1994 as president of corporate merchandising, and later became president of Bailey Banks & Biddle. Since May 1999, he has served as executive vice president, chief merchandise and marketing officer for Friedman’s Jewelers. Mr. Leonard also held various management positions with the Macy’s organization, May Company, and Ames Department Stores.
