Yvel Celebrates 25 Years with a Private Reception, Jewelry School Launch

Israel-based pearl jewelry manufacturer, Yvel,
celebrates 25
years in business in 2011. To mark the occasion, the company is hosting a
private cocktail reception at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday,
June 1.
The celebration will continue throughout the year with the grand opening
of the
Yvel Design Center and Andrea Bronfman School of Jewelry and Art.

The latter is a unique school for the study of jewelry
craftsmanship that directly benefits Ethiopian Jewish immigrants, who
often
struggle upon relocation to Israel. Isaac Levy, Yvel’s president—who
immigrated
to Israel as a young boy—wanted to help others ease into Israeli life
and culture,
so he partnered with the non-profit association Be Atzmi,
to reach out to and
aid this segment of the Israeli population.

Each candidate for the Andrea Bronfman School of Jewelry and
Art goes through a detailed application process before being accepted,
and, students
are paid a monthly stipend during the one-year program. Students are
also assisted
throughout the training by a social worker, and curriculum also includes
Israeli history and heritage lessons, and tours throughout the country
to help
them acclimate themselves to Israeli life. Students will be assisted
with job
placement into the Israeli jewelry industry upon graduation, helping
them to contribute
to the success of the overall jewelry industry in Israel.

“The opportunity to give back to the Israeli community is a
personal passion for me,” Levy told the press.
The international success of Yvel has enabled Orna and me to create a
powerful, positive and enduring impact on the lives of these Ethiopian
immigrants. We are eternally grateful to all Yvel supporters worldwide
who have
helped us make this dream into a reality.”

The school is also part of Yvel’s newly built Design Center,
a 50,000 square-foot facility located along the winding road to
Jerusalem.
Situated in a former winery, the new facility houses Yvel offices,
showrooms,
and a factory, as well as the Andrea Bronfman School of Jewelry and
Art.  The grand opening gala and ribbon cutting
ceremony will take place later this year.
