Baby, it’s cold outside. Well, it is for some parts of the world. Here in Washington, D.C., it’s a balmy 60 degrees (one day after we had hypothermia warnings. ‘Sup, Mother Nature?). So what does one wear when she is positively freezing (besides lots of layers)? Fire opal, of course! The orangy-red gem really looks great in any season. It provides the much-needed warmth during the colder months, and when temperatures rise, it’s the perfect match for all of those summer hues (I particularly love it paired with turquoise). And which jewelry brand really knows how to work a fire opal? The incredible Yael Designs! The team I love has really been branching out in gemstone selections recently, but fire opal has been a mainstay in many of its collections, and it continues to amaze. Here’s just a sampling. Anyone wanna go halfsies on that bracelet? Swoon!
